About Our Director

Mr. Henry Watts

Henry Watts is the very much beloved Director of Orchestras at Ridge Point High School. He has lived in Houston his entire life. He grew up in Fort Bend ISD and graduated from Kempner High School. After high school, Mr. Watts continued his studies at the University of Houston where he earned his Bachelors degree in Music Education with a focus on string pedagogy. 

After graduating from U of H, Mr. Watts began teaching at Ridge Point High School. Henry has worked at the school since it first opened in 2010.

 

Mr. Watts is both a professional cellist and pianist. He regularly writes and arranges music for both choir and orchestra. Mr. Watts has had compositions premiered in Carnegie Hall and in Europe. He is also a member of TMEA, TODA and Phi Mu Alpha. 

When Mr. Watts is not working on music, he enjoys baking, playing video games and spending time with his son, Lucas.
